I’m an artist and professional printmaker based in North Essex, I create original handmade linocut prints inspired by the landscape and nature around me. With my prints I want to share the calm and peace that being in nature and paying attention brings.
Liz Hartley’s linocuts speak quietly yet with great depth; layer upon layer of translucent ink build images that hold the stillness of wide skies, the shimmer of water, and the presence of watchful trees. Her work carries the spirit of the places she knows well: the distinct landscapes of North Essex, the watery reaches of the Fens, and the wild edge of Scotland’s west coast.
